Privacy policy

How this site treats personal data.

Amber Associates IT Training Ltd is the controller for personal data processed in connection with amberittraining.com. This policy is written for UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who we are

Amber Associates IT Training Ltd, company number 13065195, registered office 31 Watford Metro Centre, Dwight Road, Watford, England WD18 9SB. Telephone +44 20 8572 7434. Email [email protected].

2. What this site collects

The public pages are static. The on-page quiz does not send answers to a server and does not create an account. We do not run a marketing list from this domain as a default.

If you email or telephone us, we process the details you choose to send — typically a name, a return address or number, and the content of the message — so that we can reply.

Our hosting provider and any content-delivery network will process technical logs that can include IP address, browser type, date and time of the request, and the page requested. Those logs exist to keep the site available and to investigate abuse. They are not used to build a profile of your reading.

3. Cookies

This publication does not set advertising cookies and does not embed third-party ad networks. If a future technical cookie is required for security or load balancing, it will be strictly necessary or you will be asked. You can control cookies in your browser.

4. Purpose and legal basis

  • To publish the site and keep it secure — legitimate interests in operating an information service, balanced against your interest in a quiet visit.
  • To answer a message you send us — steps prior to a contract or our legitimate interest in correspondence, and where relevant your consent.
  • To meet a legal request — legal obligation.

5. Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who host or deliver the site, with professional advisers under confidentiality, or where the law requires a disclosure. External course pages (for example FutureLearn or NCSC) are outside this policy; their notices apply once you leave this domain.

6. International transfers

If a host or email provider stores data outside the United Kingdom, we use a provider that offers an appropriate safeguard recognised under UK data protection law, or we limit the transfer to what the correspondence requires.

7. Retention

Correspondence is kept only as long as the thread remains useful, then deleted or archived with access limited to people who need it. Server logs follow the host’s standard rotation, typically weeks rather than years, unless a security incident requires a longer hold.

8. Your rights

You may ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction or objection, and you may ask for portability of data you provided to us. You may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). To exercise a right, write to the registered office or email [email protected] with the subject “Privacy”.

9. Children

The site is written for adults making decisions about their own study. We do not seek data from children.

10. Changes

If the way we process data changes in a material way, we will update this page and revise the date below.

Last updated: 21 September 2026. For the company identity see the legal notice.
